Courir le Manipal Marathon!!!!

If you want to run, run a mile. If you want to experience a different life, run a marathon.
                                                                                       - Emil Zatopek,Olympic Gold Medalist

The countdown to the 1st edition of Atharva’s Manipal Marathon has begun.

Atharva 2012-2013,in its latest avatar adds another edge to its dynamic personality by bringing an initiative to support the education of the underprivileged children and is conducting “Run for a Cause” in association with MAD- Make a Difference,an NGO making a difference in the lives of 5400 children across India, on the 13th of January 2013.

Both the acts of completing a marathon and raising funds for a social cause are extremely rewarding to the soul. Both require immense passion, determination, conviction and hard work. The “Run for a cause” marathon would be a perfect opportunity to do your bit to charity- symbolizing the community spirit, melting all barriers and providing a unique platform for fund raising.

TAPMI, is well known not only for metamorphosing effective business managers, but also for shaping socially responsive Indian citizens. The marathon attempts to sensitize people on the importance of education for underprivileged children and for this, strives to bring together people from all walks of life.

Here s an enticing video created for the upcoming marathon and other events of Atharva..

Let the roads of Manipal be flooded with the enthusiastic people running for the noble cause of educating the deprived.

Atharva 2013 - Survive. Revive. Conquer.

A new year filled with possibilities has been ushered in. The potential is infinite. Uncharted territory to be explored….

In keeping with the spirit of Atharva the New Year begins with a sense to Survive, Revive and Conquer.  It is now time to survive the harshest of upheavals that our environment might throw at us. Surviving the year 2012 has not been easy for most. The terrors and treachery resonate into this new beginning, but there is a strong sense of resolve. A feeling of strength and stubbornness. Stubbornness to issue the obstacles mere molehills. Stubbornness to have our worst fears see the light of defeat. The stubbornness to revive.

The revival spirit is upbeat with stirrings reminiscent of those in the Arab world, the ones that overthrew unjust leaders. The sprit is to revive leadership. That leadership that is in one and all. That leadership that has been kept in the dug-out for its opportunity in the lime light. The leadership is to come to a fore. Management and other institutes that instill in us the thought process to come out of the bunkers and grab what is our right are to herald in this new beginning. The leadership skills taught and developed in these shrines of wisdom shall lead us to a glorified future. A future where all our reservations have been conquered. Our fears banished and our hearts filled with love and respect for the being that is human.

The resonating postulate is gathering strength. Atharva is to be the platform to herald in this new spirit of oneness. Empowered with the support from all corners of the country, this event will unite thousands in the development of the solution that would take us back to the golden age of our great nation.

The Ten Commandments

The magical ride of Atharva 2012-13 began with nothing but a resounding recitation of our "Ground Rules" - THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, as we call it.

Read on.. The Ten Commandments
  1. Thou shall consider Atharva as thy First and Foremost priority.
  2. Thou shall not be late for meetings.
  3.  ..Thou shall never be late for meetings.
  4. Thou shall not enter the Den in an inebriated or intoxicated state. Suspicious persons will be politely requested to recite the Management Games portfolio backwards.
  5.  The Den shall NOT be allowed to fall into derelict and decay. Cleanliness is next to Awesomeness.
  6. Thou shall not entertain non-Atharvans in the hallowed walls of the Den. Trespassers shall be inducted into Atharva with no trial.
  7. All articles in the Den are bound to Atharva by ancient Egyptian black magic. Thou shall use them judiciously and for Atharva purposes alone.
  8. Respect thy fellow Atharvans as thou wouldst have them respect you.
  9. Thou shall be ever-respectful of a fellow Atharvan’s opinion. In the event of a deadlock, it shall be settled with a bout of mud-wrestling overseen by our Convener.
  10. And lastly, the Den walls are sound-proof and leak-proof. Thou shall guard all that transpires within these walls with thy life.
AMEN.
